As we mentioned last time on our blog, it is full steam ahead with the Jaguar F-Type as it makes its way to U.S. dealerships like Jaguar Houston Central. This highly anticipated model is easily the sportiest car included in the Jaguar production line with the Jaguar XFR-S taking the racing performance slot. The question remains, what should happen to the popular Jaguar XK coupe?

In a recent interview, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum commented on the possible evolution of the XK. He said the company is "going through a lot of discussion. It could grow into the luxury market, and grow in size. Whether it stays the same as a two-plus-two or becomes a two-plus-more-than-two has not been committed to yet"1.

The theory seems to be that since the F-Type will become the brand's sports car, the XK would be free to become something closer to a touring sedan; hence the possible expansion in number of seats. This change would appeal to the more casual luxury driver. Whatever changes are made, we expect that Jaguar will keep the powerful 5.0-liter 385 horsepower engine.
