Here at Jaguar Houston Central we have been hearing whispers about a special variant of the the Jaguar XFR-S being in the works, but it wasn't until recently that our suspicions were finally confirmed. Auto industry spies were able to gather some details about the highly secretive Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake and took some pictures as it did laps around a test track.

As new Jaguar vehicles go, this one is a doozy. Aside from a large injection of power under the hood, the body and underpinnings have been modified to accompany all those ponies. The XFR-S Sportbrake has expanded air intakes, quad-tipped exhaust, low-profile performance tires, stronger brakes and some sleek badging on the back end.

This new supercar from Jaguar is operating with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that can slam out 542 horsepower and up to 502 lb.-ft. of torque. Pair that with the standard eight-speed ZF transmission and you have the recipe for a car that can make a 0-62 mph. run in just 4.6 seconds.

We should note that the engineers at Jaguar have electronically governed the speed at 186 miles per hour. So if you were thinking about competing in a NASCAR race, you will be just under the limit.

We are pretty certain that the XFR-S Sportbrake will make its official world debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, and you can be sure to get all the details right here on our blog.
